Awegust Update

Hey there lovely people! As we pass the midway point of the month, I thought it would be nice to take the time to acknowledge the magnificent achievements of this year’s Awegust for Awetism campaign thus far.

As I write this, our total funds raised stand at over $18,000. 49 people have taken on Awegust challenges this year. These challenges include the City2Surf marathon pictured below, and a goal of walking 240,000 steps throughout the month; one step for every person on the spectrum in Australia. A special shout-out must go to our Project Manager Kristen Callow, who currently stands as our biggest earner with $5403 raised so far.

The earnings of previous Awegust for Awetism campaigns in 2015 and 2016 allowed I CAN Network to offer mentoring and support to over 300 young people on the spectrum, and expand our program to Tasmania, Queensland, and regional Victoria. This year’s funds will be expand that reach further still, particularly to areas of low socio-economic status.

On behalf of the team at I CAN Network, I would like to thank everyone who has participated or donated thus far; your contributions are helping to create a better world for people on the spectrum.

And the month is far from over; you can get involved by registering or donating here:

Rock on you marvellous humanoids.
